Left-To-Live spogliato e altro ancora.
Quando i Twenty Four Hours si riunirono a San Marco di Locorotondo in Valle d'Itria (Zona trulli), nello storico trullo ove sono stati composti la maggior parte dei loro brani, era l'Agosto 2014. Era intenzione della band di comporre, arrangiare e registrare tutti i brani del nuovo album, dopo un silenzio di 10 anni, in quel posto magico e unico al mondo. Sfortunatamente, lo scarso tempo a disposizione a causa di impegni lavorativi e di famiglia impedì di mettere a punto un sistema di registrazione all'altezza dell'importanza della reunion. Così si decise che le registrazioni di quell'estate in Valle d'Itria sarebbero state solo dei provini. Infatti l'album "Left-To-Live" è stato interamente registrato, arrangiato e mixato nello studio "Magister Recording Area" di Andrea Valfrè, con l'aiuto di Marco Lincetto dell'etichetta Velut Luna. La qualità tecnica della produzione è ineccepibile, tuttavia riascoltando oggi dopo sei anni da quella storica reunion, i demo dell'album ho captato un'atmosfera unica e un pathos che in studio era andato perduto. Naturalmente questa sensazione potrebbe dipendere dal forte coinvolgimento di noi membri della band rispetto a quel luogo magico e può darsi che per altri individui estranei a tali esperienze, questi raffinati vissuti non risultino così intensi e condivisibili. Una cosa è certa: il luogo ispira e rende davvero uniche le esperienze compositive o anche semplicemente il ritrovarsi tutti amichevolmente insieme.
Il fatto che questi grezzi demo abbiano evocato forti emozioni all'ascolto, mi ha convinto a rimasterizzare i brani e a riproporli su Bandcamp come versione grezza di Left-To-Live.
Tutto il disco è disponibile a soli 5.00 Eur, ma i brani possono essere scaricati singolarmente, tutti gratuitamente. La comodità ha un suo prezzo ;-)

When Twenty Four Hours met in San Marco di Locorotondo in Valle d'Itria (Zona trulli), in the historic trullo where most of their songs were composed, it was August 2014. It was the band's intention to compose, arrange and record all the songs of the new album, after a silence of 10 years, in that magical and unique place in the world. Unfortunately, the lack of time available due to work and family commitments prevented us from developing a registration system that lived up to the importance of the reunion. So it was decided that the recordings of that summer in Valle d'Itria would be just auditions. In fact, the album "Left-To-Live" was entirely recorded, arranged and mixed in Andrea Valfrè's "Magister Recording Area" studio, with the help of Marco Lincetto of the Velut Luna label. The technical quality of the production is impeccable, however, listening to the demos of the album today six years after that historic reunion, I caught a unique atmosphere and a pathos that had been lost in the studio. Of course this feeling could depend on the strong involvement of us members of the band with respect to that magical place and it may be that for other individuals unrelated to such experiences, these refined experiences are not so intense and shareable. One thing is certain: the place inspires and makes compositional experiences truly unique or even simply the friendly gathering together.
The fact that these raw demos evoked strong listening emotions convinced me to remaster the songs and re-release them on Bandcamp as a raw version of Left-To-Live.
The whole disc is available for only 5.00 Eur, but the songs can be downloaded individually, all for free. Convenience has its price ;-)
