Questa è la registrazione originale su nastro analogico, del primo concerto dei Twenty Four Hours in assoluto. Avvenne in un mitico pub barese chiamato Taverna del Maltese il 24 Aprile del 1986. Qualche settimana prima, uno di noi, un ragazzo della nostra cerchia di amici, ebbe un incidente terribile. Fu investito da un'auto impazzita e rimase tetraplegico. Questo dramma accadde proprio nel periodo della vita in cui tutti noi decidiamo la strada che ci porterà alla vita adulta con tutti i suoi impegni e ostacoli. Avevamo tutti più o meno 20 anni e avevamo appena iniziato l'Università. E così aveva fatto anche Giancarlo (così si chiama il nostro sfortunato amico) a Milano, ma purtroppo l'incidente frenò la sua corsa. Egli non si arrese e affrontò decine di interventi neurochirurgici che gli permisero di continuare a studiare, anche grazie all'aiuto della sua eroica moglie, un'infermiera conosciuta proprio in ospedale. Oggi è uno stimato docente universitario, insegna in Italia e Svezia e ha una meravigliosa grande famiglia. Il nostro primo concerto è dedicato a questo nostro caro amico.

This is the original analog tape recording of the first Twenty Four Hours concert ever. It happened in a legendary pub in Bari called Taverna del Maltese on April 24, 1986. A few weeks earlier, one of us, a boy from our circle of friends, had a terrible accident. He was hit by a crazy car and remained quadriplegic. This drama happened precisely in the period of life in which we all decide the path that will lead us to adult life with all its commitments and obstacles. We were all more or less 20 years old and had just started university. And so did Giancarlo (as our unfortunate friend is called) in Milan, but unfortunately the accident slowed down his run. He did not give up and faced dozens of neurosurgical interventions that allowed him to continue studying, also thanks to the help of his heroic wife, a nurse known precisely in the hospital. Today he is an esteemed university teacher, teaches in Italy and Sweden and has a wonderful large family. Our first concert is dedicated to this dear friend of ours.
