about

"Poverty" is a song composed in 2001 during the recording sessions of our 4th album "The Sleepseller", but, like "Distorted By Trust" released in these days, it was never officially released for various reasons: the first and perhaps the most important is that in the period of mixing and mastering of the album all the elements of the band were at a crossroads: important work and family choices including the birth of the first daughter of the singer-keyboardist forced a tightening of the times of production. Furthermore, the first edition of the album had a very vaporous, "playfully dancing" and sometimes "pro-landscape" setting, so the two excluded songs did not seem suitable at the time to be included in the album. So they weren't even finished. The re-arranging, mixing and mastering are indeed fresh cool and many vocal and guitar parts have been re-recorded just lately.

Paolo Lippe

Below is an authoritative opinion of a great Italian journalist:

"With "Poverty" the band seems to want to rattle off its more 'rock' numbers, demonstrating that they know how to mix indie, psychedelia and prog with great naturalness. The keyboards take a step back and the scene is dominated by vocals, guitar, bass and drums. A minimalist and essential, but exciting track".
